i'd like to start out by saying wow what a good time. i hope everyone involved in the event had as good of a time as i did. announcing was a blast and i hope i did a good job for everyone. a big thanks to max, roman, and pete for letting me drive their cars this weekend. i truely appreciate it and actually found out how a real car is supposed to handle . Thanks to all the drivers who drove this weekend for the first time. you all did very well. mako was out there taking some great pics and i cant wait to see them. man we had some timing problems towards the end of yesterdays runs but we all pulled through and using stop watches. pete did a super job with that. today max posted the best time with a 35.2 followed by roman with a 35.9 or so, next best i belive was me with a 36.13 in roman's car, but all in all everyone did great. i dont know what else to say but thanks everyone for a great weekend. since i've been racing autocross for the last few months i can say this was the most fun i've ever had.

thanks again

I want to thank all the Team Blew members that came out to help out. You all did an amazing job, putting on a super event in tough conditions. I didn't see one cross word between anyone, and everyone had a great attitude. Anyone else think Jason Terry has a great voice (and face) for radioLOL
Max.

Thanks guys for putting on a fun event for first timers! Your generosity took away most of my first time butterflies. The announcing was a great feature to keep those spectating informed.

Thanks Max and Mako for showing me what my Forester was capable of too!

I'll have more comentary later, still have and ice hockey game tonight, leaving shortly.  Your Black Box warren ended up being the winning GG!!

I can arrange a trophy drop for you!! More info to follow.

And, GREAT job Jason announcing, your ability to keep it informative and fun was impressive.  I'll be recruiting you later to help me tune my ride, your times were so darn close to mine, it scared me! Embarrassed

they may have been close but man your car handles like a dream....you have to keep in mind we were using stop watches which makes it hard to actually tell exact times but i'm totally down to help you....it was so much fun driving everyone's cars this weekend....even though timing was the hardest job out there this weekend, pete you made it look like it was the easiest job out there....thanks again pete and to everyone for a great weekendThumbs Up

Thanks Pete. Playing hockey? I was tired just watching the playoffs on T.V. tonight!

Good news on my finish. How many G.G. entrants were there? Two?

Well, I'm definitely less dissappointed that I couldn't make it back today.
Thanks again to your team.

Edit:I just noticed the noob sticky about username.

Mako, your photography skills are amazing.

Thanks everyone for letting me run and I'm sorry for giving you guys a heart attack when security was looking for me.

I hope everyone that autocross'd at this event will do it more often and stop going to the canyons. Team Blew, Nicole and I are so happy to be joining such a wonderful club! Embarrassed

Can someone make sure our newest member sees his pictures. After Max and Roman, I think he did the most runs!

One of my favorite things about this weekend, was how much use the course got, and how many people it made happy.

No Filters on this shot!

Hello all, I just wanted to say thanks for the great event. It was a long trip for me to get out there but I'm glad I came and raced! Special thanks to Max, Jason, and Pete for the ride alongs and discussions!

I got over a hundred pictures and several videos while at the event, but hopefully Mako you can provide me with a few more close ups on the track ;)

Thanks again,
Marcus

Mako's shot of the Mustang at sunset is magazine cover quality stuff!  Definitely the work of a world class camera man, and with the modern wonders of PhotoShop:

Yeah I Pmed him about getting the full res pics of me/my car :P

Just a question about driving, how do you guys pitch the front of your cars toward the center of the cones? I have a WRX so i lack the DCCD, so I dont know if thats what i need, but whenever i got close enough to oversteering, instead of understeering the car would kind of...like ... studder, like i could feel my tires trying to skip

What was different on Sunday that let Max and Roman further drop their times?

Course got cleaner, I laid down more rubber LOL, and the tires went from full depth to 1/2 depth plus a couple of heat cycles.

Plus some sub-conscious memory, I'm sure.

Batch processing all 700+ photos at the moment ... hopefully I got most everyone covered? As usual, Team Blew members get free High Rez files of any shots that they want for themselves ... and inexpensive At Cost prints from Fotki. Just let me know which shots you want. The Batch Processed shots are NOT Enlarged, Cropped or Color/Density corrected. The shots you ask for WILL BE Enlarged, Cropped and Corrected. Fotki charges $2.95 for an 8" X 12" ... $0.40 for a 5" X 7", plus shipping.

I'll post the link to the album with the photos later this evening.

I'm upset with myself that I didn't think to use Fill Flash until the later half of Sunday. It's not often one gets to photograph Auto Cross at such close distances, where Fill Flash works to make ones usually shadowed face stand out.

Sure, but don't expect me to pull my fastest times. I was stuck in one time range for a while yesterday until I lost my passengers.    I regret not giving a ride to the one my roommate commented as having "huge tracks of land!"
